This heroine has a self-image problem. She's overweight, and it consumes her waking hours. She has met and fallen for a rock singer whose band is starting to get traction in the music world. He has groupies, and he likes the fan scene -- he's friendly but not sleazy. It's part of the job for him to meet the fans and go on the road with his band to perform; she gets that, but cannot get comfortable with it. No matter how many tedious times the man tries to reassure her that her soft curves and giant caboose are just what he loves, she hugs her deep body image insecurities like a life raft in choppy seas. It's awkward to read. Like Dr. Phil says (over and over), people look the way they do by choice, and for a reason. What is her reason -- that she fears change and wants to spend her life alone? (it's unclear.). When the insecurities take over, she flees the poor man. Then, days afterward, she calls him. Repeat, repeat, repeat. He gets frustrated. What can he say or do to convince her that she is who he wants? (Nothing -- it's her problem not his.). Will she make up her mind? Strong third book in this series. Wonderful character development with a plot line that will keep you reading. Finally, Liss must come to grips with her fears and decide whether her love for Joe can survive.
Love this series, I wait in the wings to read each of them every time a new book drops. I like that the men as physically perfect as they seem are flawed in some way. Their flaws make the female characters seem perfect in contrast.
This book was just a pity party for Liss. I thought her issue was lack of self esteem but, this book alluded to more. To summarize this book, Liss led Joe on, was selfish and lacked any "rock band" feel. This was a story about a girl with issues. That's it.
I have to say that I hated to reach the end of this series cause I wanted to find out where they would be headed next! I read the first book in one night and jumped right into the second one right away.. I fell in love with the main characters and could definitely relate to the insecurities that Liss struggled with. Being a curvy chick myself, I know how it feels to be out of your element sometimes, yet you just have to go with it. I know I will be reading this story again cause it is too cute not too. I hope that the author writes more novels about Joe and Liss's story!
Love the story with such strong characters. Hate the fact that the story is so divided and had to keep paying just to read a whole book. The books was so good that if the author had made it into one book I would have paid what I'd did for the chapters. This story was worth it so I'm glade I did. Awesome story and love the fact that despite Liss insecurity Joe was able to make her see what a truely wonderful person she was. Her weight was an issue for her but for him was amazing. He loved her no matter what and made her feel and become the sexy woman he saw.
I enjoyed this series so far, the first book was free which drew me in and since then I've bought each one. It's nice to have a change of pace with a BBW girl receiving love, not just the 5'2 105lb girls )
I'm disappointed however, because the books are SO short, espeically for the price tag. But the storyline has me hooked and I bought the books anyway.
I hope the author will continue to write these stories, however, I hope that she will also combine them into larger books. I don't and won't make a habit of spending over $.99 for a 75 page book.
I read the entire series. I really enjoyed the story line and all of the characters. I loved the way the author tied in all the characters and wrote more books with these very likable characters. The only thing that was a little annoying was that the proof reader needs to do a better job of proof reading. I end up having to read a line 3 or 4 times because it made no sense to me other than it was a typo. Other than some typos I was completely glued to the books. Really enjoyed the entire series and recommend it to others.
